Liberty County High School Lady Panther softball team recently had its awards banquet.
“We had a good season and improved substantially in all areas,” coach Jerome Standard said.
The team made it all the way into the state tournament, but was eliminated Oct. 16 by Crisp County. Overall, the team was 9-15 for the season and 4-5 in Region 3A-AAAA.
Saying he was going to miss seniors who graduate in the spring, Standard said he is looking forward to the team’s future.
“We have a strong nucleus coming back and should be strong next season,” the coach said. “We have encouraged all our athletes to lift weights and play travel ball.”
