The East Georgia College men’s basketball team is rolling, thanks in large part to the four players from Liberty County.
Heading into Tuesday’s action, the Bobcats are 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association. The Bobcats are led by former First Presbyterian Christian Academy Highlander Jordan Johnson. In 15 games played, including 14 starts, Johnson is averaging 21.2 points in 29.2 minutes.
He also averages 2.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Johnson is first in the conference with 156 points in league play as well as 3-pointers, hitting 32-of-61 to date. Former Highlander teammate DJ Felder has 16 starts in 16 games, averaging 24.9 minutes and 13.6 points. Felder has 122 total rebounds to date and 30 assists.
Former Bradwell Institute player Jon Blair is averaging seven points per game and has 58 total rebounds, 11 steals and 18 assists. Former Tiger Jalen Watson is averaging 4.2 points per game to go with 77 total rebounds.
The EGC bobcats play at 7:30 tonight at Georgia Highlands and at 3 p.m. Saturday at Georgia Perimeter.
