The 13U Line Drive baseball team, out of Pooler, went 7-0-1 at the weeklong Cal Ripken Experience Tournament last week in Aberdeen, Md. The team, which includes Hinesville native Christian Ruff, tied New Canaan, 11-11, before winning the championship game, 4-3, over the formerly undefeated Virginia Panthers. The Line Drive played against teams from Texas, Virginia, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Ohio.  The Line Drive outscored opponents, 87-31. The team is coached by Tommy Gibbs, Steven Vaughn and Kyle Jones.
