Long County High School recently honored its football players at a fall sports banquet.
Taking home the Outstanding Defensive Lineman Award was Nick Stock. The Outstanding Defensive Back Award went to Brandon Adkins. Delonte Singleton won the JV Coaches Award, the Coaches Offensive Ironman Award went to Jacob Turner, the Freshman Student-Athlete Award winner was D’Andre Watkins, and Tyler Smith was recognized on the 2-AA All-Region team as an offensive lineman. Fred Nelson won the Outstanding Running Back Award and made the All-Region 2-AA team. Patrick Howard won the Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award and was a second-team All-Region 2-AA selection. Jeffery Hall won the Outstanding Linebacker Award and also made the all-region team.
Vanda Vareen won the Coaches Defensive Iron Man Award and also was recognized on as a second-team all-region linebacker.
Randal Behrendt won the JV Most Improved Player of the Year Award and also the Sophomore Student-Athlete Award, and kicker Miguel Hernandez won the Senior Student-Athlete Award and made second-team all-region.
Being recognized with three awards was Luke Golden, who won the Outstanding Receiver Award and the Junior Student-Athlete Award and was named to the all-region second team as a tight end.
