McRae, Vols upset UMass

Former Liberty County High School basketball player Jordan McRae chunked in 21 points, going 9-of-16, helping the University of Tennessee earn an 86-67 upset over the UMass Minutemen Friday.
The 11th-seeded Vols toppled the sixth seeded Minutemen during the NCAA tournament.
The Volunteers advanced to face Mercer today in the third round. The game starts at 6:10 p.m., according to ncaa.com.
Mercer advanced after scoring an upset over third-ranked Duke Friday.
According to utsports.com, the Vols and Mercer have recent history. Last season, Mercer ended the Vols’ season in the NIT with a 75-67 win.

Editors note: The Tennessee Volunteers are heading back to the Sweet 16 for the fourth time in the last eight years! The 11th-seeded Vols topped 14-seed Mercer, 83-63, on Sunday night at PNC Arena to reach to the Sweet 16 for the seventh time in school history. McRae scored 14 points in the win.
