The Liberty County High School boys’ basketball team started its season with two losses at the Southside Classic on Nov. 16-17 at Windsor Forest.
On Nov. 16, the Panthers lost a tight one to Groves, 55-54. Panther junior Freddie McSwain led in scoring with 20 points. McSwain also nabbed 18 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots and three steals. LCHS senior Michael Farrior added 10 points.
On Nov. 17 the Panthers fell, 75-50, to host school Windsor Forest. Liberty junior Conner Bailey led the Panthers with
16 points, McSwain notched 10 points, freshman Jishaun Harris added eight and Farrior chipped in seven.
Harris led the defense with seven rebounds, while junior Jeremiah Bacon had seven assists and five rebounds.
The Liberty girls beat Windsor Forest, 66-52, on Nov. 17.
Liberty was scheduled to travel Tuesday to Richmond Hill and will host Bradwell Institute on Friday. The girls tip-off at 6:30 p.m., and the boys’ game will follow.
