They didn’t get a shot at post season play, but the Liberty County Panthers still ended the season on a high note with a 21-14 win against Glenn Hills on Friday at Donell Woods Stadium.
It was Liberty’s second win against the Spartans this season.
The Panthers finished the season 5-5 overall and 0-3 in Region 3A-AAAA.
Standout Panther linebacker Raekwon McMillan led the defense again with 10.5 tackles, including two for loss.
McMillan also had nine carries for 52 yards on offense.
Panther quarterback JJ Grant was 7-of-15 for 58 passing yards and a touchdown. Grant also had 10 carries for 73 yards.
Jeremy Caldwell-Fabergas had three receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown, and Andre Haggary rushed for 56 yards and 11 carries.
The Panthers would have held a bigger lead as McMillan appeared to score on rushes of 30 and 10 yards, but both were called back due to penalties.
Liberty’s Jonathan Britton had a sack, Corey Lazenby and Dashaun Hudson each recovered a fumble.
The Spartans finished 4-6 and 2-3 in Region 3B-AAAA. The first time Liberty and Glenn Hills met, the Panthers won 37-14.
