Run honors firefighters memory
TunnelRun

SAVANNAH  – Wells Fargo Advisors will present the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run  on Saturday, Sept. 15 in downtown Savannah.
The run will honor the memory of Siller, a New York City firefighter who perished in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Siller was on his way to play golf that morning when the call came in over his scanner.
When he approached the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and saw it was closed, he put his gear on and ran through the tunnel to the site of the attacks.
The inaugural 5K run will begin at 8 a.m. at Orleans Square. Registration for the Tunnel to Towers Run Savannah is available online at www.t2trun.org, www.fleetfeetsavannah.com/t2t or in person at Fleet Feet Sports Savannah, located at 3405 Waters Avenue in Savannah.
All proceeds from the Tunnel to Towers Run Savannah will go to “Building for America’s Bravest” through the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
These funds will be designated for building “smart homes” for two severely wounded veterans in Georgia.
