Seventeen Long County High School football players have been named All-Region 2-AA by the region’s coaches.
Offensive lineman Tyler Smith and running back Fred Smith were named to the first team offense while linebackers Jeffery Hall was named first-team defense.
Second-team selections included tight end Luke Golden and offensive lineman Patrick Howard.
Linebackers Andrew Waters and Vanda Vereen were second-team picks. Kicker Miguel Hernandez earned second-team honors as well.
Earning honorable mention on offense were quarterback Jacob Turner, running back Deonte Ellis, wide receiver Kwanzi Lattimore, and offensive linemen Cody Smiley and Delavin Hampton.
Defensive lineman Nick Stock and defensive back Brandon Adkins were honorable mention as well.
Defensive end Armondo Toledo and defensive back Delonte Singleton were named to the region’s All-Freshman team.
“I would like to say congratulations to the players and thanks to the coaches in the region for recognizing the efforts of these young men,” Long County coach Ron Flott said.
