Tiger Touchdown Club hosting golf tourney
The Tiger Touchdown Club is hosting its inaugural golf tournament at 1 p.m. July 20 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville.
All proceeds will benefit the Bradwell Institute football team. The fee is $50 per person or $200 per four person teams. Hole sponsorships are available for $100. Players will have a chance to win a car with a hole-in-one at a hole to be determined.
Prizes will be awarded to the top four places.
Lady Panthers to start conditioning soon
Liberty County High School’s softball team will start conditioning the last week of July. Starting July 29 the Liberty girls will condition daily and tryouts will be on Aug. 1. Student athletes must have physicals and be eligible to play. The Lady Panthers still need softball gloves. Anyone wishing to donate new or used gloves can drop them off at the school’s front office. Soccer camps set
The Hinesville Gators, coached by Tom Sukaratana has teamed up with the Atlanta Calcio Academy to provide a specialized camp designed to teach American players Italian tactics and technical skills.
The camp will be taught by Atlanta Calcio Academy head coach Gavino Asteghene and assistant coach David Sexton.
The camp will be at James Brown Park July 8-12. The morning session will run from 9 a.m. until noon and is open to ages 6-12. The afternoon session runs from 4-7 p.m. and is open to ages 13-17. The fee is $150 per player and includes a dry-fit camp T-shirt, tote bag and water bottle.
