Two-person best-ball tournament planned
Registration is under way for a 36-hole best-ball golf tournament at Cherokee Rose Country Club on June 28 and at Taylors Creek Golf Course on June 29.
Two-person teams will be flighted after the first round. A women’s division and a senior men’s division for ages 60-plus also will be offered.
Those wanting to play can sign up at either course by
5 p.m. June 23. The cost of $75 per player includes two days of 18-hole greens and cart fees, prizes, beverages and food. For more information, call 767-2370 or 876-5503.

Rec department speed training has spots open
Slots are available for the Liberty County Recreation Department’s free speed-training program from 7-8 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday during June and July at the Shuman Recreation Center.
The camp is open to ages 16 and older.
