With a large fanbase making the trip to Candler County, the Long County High School football team defeated Metter, 49-7, on Friday to finish with the best record in school history.
The Blue Tide ended 2012 with a 5-5 record. The Tide secured their first non-losing record and got their fourth Region 2-AA win, which also was the most in school history.
With touchdowns by Vanda Vareen, Jeffery Hall, Luke Golden and Deonte’ Ellis, the Blue Tide exploded in the first half to take a 42-7 lead in at the break. Long County continued to play well adding a touchdown by Jaleel Braggs.
