The team of Robert Darby, Pat Edwards, Travis Mobley and Jason Darby claimed the title at the Bradwell Institute Tigers Football Team Touchdown Club Golf Tournament held Saturday at Cherokee Rose Country Club.
The team won the tournament with a 16 under par after birdying a playoff hole.
The event did not have as large as field as hoped for, as nearby Sapelo Hammock was hosting a large tournament. However, despite the lack of a large field, organizers said it should make close to $5,000 after expenses.
“I just want to thank people for coming out and supporting the program. Without sponsorship of holes, it would be harder for us to help these kids and this program. The players and coaches are very pleased with dedication of the Touchdown Club and, especially, the support of the community,” Bradwell Institute head football coach Greg Hill said.
Hinesville Ford donated a vehicle if anyone made a hole-in-one. No one recorded an ace Saturday.
