The Walker Middle School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams competed in the Bryan County Summer Slam on Saturday in Pembroke.
The Wildcats went 5-2 for the day, while the Lady Wildcats went 0-2.  The Wildcat defeated Bryan County, 30-14, South Effingham, 30-25, and Langston/Statesboro, 35-28, and also swept Wheeler County, 36-13 and 29-26.  The boys’ losses were to the Savannah AAU Chaos, 27-26, and in their first game against Langston/Statesboro, 24-23.  
The Lady Wildcats fell to Bryan County, 25-5, and to the Savannah AAU Angels, 30-2.

Before the 2021 season, the Long County Blue Tide football team had never beaten Tattnall County. They now hold two consecutive victories over the Warriors as they held on to beat them 22-9 Friday.
