All-Star standout Marcus Scott V attended an Adidas Top 150 Phenom Camp in California Aug. 4-7 and wasranked 21 in it, according to hoopscoopinline.com.
The camp, which had more than 400 participants, is to get the attention of scouting services for young players.
“Marcus did well during the camp receiving ‘excellent’ and ‘above average’ in every area of the evaluation and one ‘average,’ his dad, Marcus Scott IV, who founded All-Star, said. “He was one of 10 players out of 150 to receive the defensive award. He was selected first-team defense.”
Scott said it was a great learning experience as well as an opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in the nation.
Scott played on a team that finished first and was the only undefeated team out of all three age groups.
“His team went 6-0, beating every team by double digits,” Scott said. “I think it is great for our program and the community that we can say that we have a kid in Hinesville who can compete against the best in the nation in his age group.”
