Local teams have rough night on grid-iron

It was a bit rough to be a football team located within Liberty County Friday night. At Donell Woods Stadium Benedictine showed why they made the state semi-finals last year taking down Liberty 44-13 in a non-region game.

At Olvey Field the Bradwell Tigers were hosting Richmond Hill for their Region 3-AAAAA opener. The Wildcats proved too much pouncing the Tigers 28-7.

At Long Bell Stadium First Presbyterian Christian Academy was hosting their first home game of the season. Georgia Christian felt right at home handing the Highlanders a 55-12 loss.

It appears the one bright spot for the region happened in Ludowici. The Long County Blue Tide held back a late run by Metter to win 28-20. Read more in Sunday's Coastal Courier and online as official stats become available.
