This past weekend the Long County 8 and under boys All-Star team brought home a third place trophy in the 55th Annual Lyons Recreation

Department Baseball Tournament. The team will now move on to the Georgia Recreation Parks Association district tournament held in Toombs County. Though the boys were unable to take home the top spot, they did have an impressive showing considering there were 17 teams take part in the tournament.

“I am proud of our kids and coaches for their accomplishments this season, they have been committed to working hard and representing our recreation department, I hope the best for them moving forward to the district tournament starting Friday,” said Long County Recreation Director Brandon McManus.
