The Long County Blue Tide basketball team is getting ready for a big summer of preparing to make another run at a region championship. In preparation for that, the team will be participating in different summer team camps while also hosting the FCA Jamboree on Thursday, June 17.

The Blue Tide will host eight other varsity and junior varsity teams with games taking place at four gyms in Ludowici. Teams are guaranteed to play three games throughout the day.

Varsity teams that will compete in the Showcase are as follows: Host Long County, Wayne County, Claxton, Coffee County, Effingham County, Colquitt County, Bryan County, and Bradwell Institute. The same junior varsity teams will compete with Claxton being replaced by Glynn Academy.

Jamboree games will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The varsity games will be played at Blakely Thornton Gymnasium -- the old high school gym -- and at the Long County High School gym. The junior varsity games will be played at the two Long County Middle School gyms.
