Long County girls set team low score

The Long County Blue Tide girls’ golf team set a school record for team score on Thursday, April 18. Both teams took on Bradwell Institute and Liberty County at Cherokee Rose Country Club and the teams came out on top with the girls setting a new record.

The Lady Tide, led by Brianna Copes, Savannah Wells, and Arryah Vaughn, shot a team record 148 in the match. They won the match by 53 strokes.

Copes was the medalist for the girls with a 45, also another record for the girls team. Wells shot a 51 and Vaughn shot a 52.

This dominant win kept the Lady Tide perfect on the season as they improve their record to 9-0.

The boys had little trouble with the Panthers and Tigers in their match as well. They won by a score of 192-237-253.

Tyler Barton and Rence Skipper each were the medalists, each shooting a 45. Freshman Tjayden Vaughn shot a personal best 50.

With the win, the boys improved their record to 12-2 on the season.
