NFL Media draft analyst Lance Zierlein has placed former Liberty County High School football player and current Ohio State Buckeyes linebacker Raekwon McMillan among the top college-football linebackers to watch in 2015.

McMillan ranked No. 7 on Zierlein’s list.
Zierlein said the list is not a preview of the 2016 draft but a look at college linebackers who already are generating interest from NFL scouts.

“McMillan played with instincts and discipline for the better part of his freshman season,” Zierlein wrote in his report dated July 2. “He’s a see-it, hit-it linebacker who keeps his eyes on his target and brings his pads with a heavy thud.”

The former Panther standout finished last season with 54 tackles while playing just 44.3 percent of the snaps. Zierlein said he thinks McMillan will be able to hit the 100-tackle mark.

McMillan was recently listed as Ohio State’s breakout player to watch in 2015 and was placed on the Butkus Award watch list. He will be the starting middle linebacker for the 2015 season. McMillan’s Ohio State teammate, Darron Lee, made the list at No. 5.
