ATLANTA — Riceboro native and Atlanta Dream forward Delisha Milton-Jones will miss the remainder of the 2014 WNBA season after suffering a ruptured right Achilles tendon, the team announced Wednesday.
The Bradwell Institute alumna’s injury occurred Sunday during the first half of the Dream’s 81-79 victory over the Chicago Sky in Atlanta. She is expected to undergo surgery later this month.
Milton-Jones was acquired July 9 via a trade with New York. She played in two games for the Dream, totaling nine points, three blocks and a pair of rebounds in 23 minutes.
The 16-year veteran ranks eighth in WNBA history with 5,533 career points, fifth in rebounds (2,541) and steals (612) and 13th in blocks (337).
