Former Faith Baptist Christian Academy athletic director and basketball coach Jared Sellars was recently named the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Coach of the Year. Sellars is the head women’s basketball coach at Pensacola Christian College.

According to the Lady Eagle’s website, Sellars’ team finished the regular season 19-10 and a perfect 8-0 in conference play this season and their fourth NCCAA South Region Championship in the past five years.
The Lady Eagles earned an automatic bid into the NCCAA National Tournament and received the number two overall seed, the highest in program history.

They had a first round bye and lost to Kentucky Christian University 63-58 on March 9. But, Saturday, the Lady Eagles beat No. 5 Bob Jones University 68-47 to take third place in the tourney.
During his years at FBCA, Sellars coached basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball and football.
His Faith Baptist teams won 13 Georgia Christian Association state championships (eight in basketball) and one national basketball title.
