Ohio State blog lists Raekwon McMillan as breakout player

Buckeyes sophomore linebacker Raekwon McMillan made the list of Ohio State’s 2015 breakout players, according to ElevenWarriors.com writer Tim Shoemaker.

In a report posted July 3 on the Ohio State sports blog, Shoemaker said the former Liberty County High School star was on his list because he was impressive during his freshman year.

“But truth be told, we didn’t see a ton of McMillan during his freshman season,” Shoemaker wrote.
McMillan is expected to be the starting middle linebacker this season.

“When it comes to McMillan, a breakout season means he becomes a superstar on Ohio State’s defense,” Shoemaker wrote.
Last season, McMillan made 54 tackles, 6½ tackles for loss of yards and 2½ sacks and returned an interception for a touchdown.

He made five tackles in the national-championship game as Ohio State beat Oregon 42-20 on Jan. 12 in Arlington, Texas.
The Buckeyes’ website says McMillan is exploring majors in the areas of management and industry.
