Liberty County Panther linebacker Marcus Jefferson recently was featured in an online edition of Parade magazine.

According to Luci Scott Sr., director of project development for Parade, a committee selected 1,600 athletes nationwide for their All-American Football Team. Those 1,600 were featured in Sunday’s Parade, which was inside the Courier.

The 1,600 nominees came from nomination forms placed on Parade newspaper partners’ sites nationwide, including the Courier’s prep sports site.

While Jefferson was not among the 1,600 selected for the print edition, Scott said he was one of five notable nominees selected by the committee for a highlight feature that is posted online.

With the selection of the All-American Football Team complete, Parade magazine is focused on basketball players. You can vote daily for your favorite local basketball player at the Courier’s prep sport site, http://sports.coastalcourier.com/prep-sports.

To vote, you need to enter the player’s first name, last name, high school, gender, city, state, position and graduation year.
