Surrounded by basketball teammates and peers, Liberty County Panther Chris Riley signed Thursday to play as a Mountain Lion for Young Harris College. Riley will join the college’s newly formed men’s basketball program. The 2010-11 season will be YHC’s first with men’s and women’s varsity squads since the program was discontinued in 1969. Two other Panthers also are headed to YHC. Miata Askew signed Monday with the women’s basketball program and Dominique Sibley will attend on a softball scholarship.

"I’m definitely excited," Riley said. "Just knowing, like in the year 2020, all those teams that played after us, that I’ll be part of that history of being among the first teams to play again since 1969."
