Caden Chancey threw seven scoreless innings and the Liberty County Panthers downed rival Bradwell Institute 6-0 Thursday in a non-region baseball game.
Chancey allowed just six hits, all singles, and struck out nine without issuing any walks.
The Panthers had just seven hits, but one was Glemon English’s bases-clearing double that drove in three runs and gave Liberty County a 4-0 lead in the second inning.
Shedrick Pass was 2-for-3 with a double, driving in a run, and Landon Usher also had a double. Jayden Gray was 2-for-3 at the plate for the Tigers.
With the win, the Panthers improved to 10-11. Bradwell fell to 4-15. Liberty hosts Southeast Bulloch today in the second game of a three-game Region 3-AAA series, and it is also the final home game of the regular season for the Panthers. Liberty ends the regular season with road games Friday at SEB and the following week at Claxton and Savannah Country Day.
