Liberty County High School’s baseball team broke its three game losing streak Thursday with a 4-3 win over Hephzibah.
The win also is the Panthers’ first sub-region win of the season.
The Panthers are now 1-2 in Region 3-AAA south and 4-9 overall. They are fourth in the standings, trailing South Effingham (3-0), Burke County (2-1) and Richmond Hill (1-2).
Liberty County lost 14-5 at Richmond Hill on Tuesday.
The Panthers played Effingham County on Saturday, but the game was not complete in time for press.
Liberty County resumes sub-region play on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. home game against Benedictine. The Cadets have yet to win a sub-region game.
