The Liberty County Panthers finished the 2024 football regular season on a winning note Friday at Savannah High Stadium, downing the Johnson Atomsmashers 15-7.

The win enabled the Panthers to end the season with a 5-5 mark and a 5-4 record in Region 3-AAA.

The Panthers trailed 7-0 when Elijah Brown broke loose for a 38-yard touchdown on fourth down, bouncing off a pile up the middle before turning to the outside and outracing the Smashers defense. Jah’barri Felix’s 31-yard pass on third and 15 kept the drive going.

Brandon Roberts’ 17-yard touchdown run up the middle with 8:02 left in the third quarter put the Panthers ahead to stay.

Trey Aiello’s field goal late in the game provided the final margin.

It was the third time the Panthers held an opponent under 10 points in a game.

Brian Robinson ran for 158 yards and a touchdown for the Atomsmashers, who ended the campaign at 3-7 overall and 3-6 in the region.
