Panthers start volleyball strong

The Liberty County Panther volleyball team lost the season opener, but has come back with vengeance
In the opener against Brunswick at Brunswick on Aug. 16 the Panthers lost 25-23 and 25-21.
The Panthers bounced back and defeated Swainsboro at the home opener Aug. 21 by a score of 25-17 and 25-12. And the Lady Panthers exacted revenge on Brunswick by defeating them at home 25-17 and 25-13 Aug. 23.
Tuesday, the Panthers crushed an overmatched Ware County team 25-12 and 25-9.
The Lady Panthers are currently 3-1 and were to play Swainsboro in Swainsboro on Thursday evening.

Long County girls earn a spot in state duals Elite Eight
Lady Tide wrestling duals
The Lady Tide wrestlers celebrate with Aliana Morales after her deciding pinfall victory in the final match of the night. Morales won her match at 145 pounds just 22 seconds into the first round. The win propelled the Long County girls wrestling team into the state duals finals at Lumpkin County High School.
The Long County Lady Blue Tide wrestling team has been on the cusp of breaking through the last few seasons and the 2024-25 season is shaping up to be a historic one.
