Panthers sweep matches again

Ben Floyd shot a 36 to lead Liberty County’s golf team to a victory at Cherokee Rose on Feb. 26.
The Panthers’ four best golfers shot 176, while Bradwell placed second with 197. Claxton finished third, shooting 232.
For the Panthers, John Floyd shot 41, Wesley Herr shot 48 and Louis Torres shot 51. Cesar Rodriguez and Joseph Owens respectively shot 55 and 59, but their scores did not go toward the team total.
Kyle Norris was Bradwell’s top golfer, shooting a 41. James Dow and Ryan Norris each shot a 48 and Chu Kim shot 60.
Liberty County’s Cassie Standard was the girls’ low medalist, shooting 47. Her teammate Meagan Rowe shot 54 to lead the Lady Panthers to the win over Claxton.
Claxton shot 123.
Bradwell’s Deborah Rodriguez shot a 63.
Thursday’s golf match, involving Bradwell, LCHS and Long County was cancelled Thursday because of rain. It will not be rescheduled.
The golfers hit the links at Taylors Creek on March 8 against Wayne County. Tee-time is 3:30 p.m.
