Panthers top Beach to stay tied atop region

The Liberty County Panthers moved to 8-3 in Region 3-AAA with a 64-56 win over Beach on Tuesday night.

The Panthers are now 11-6 on the year and tied with Groves for the top spot in the region.

Beach topped the Lady Panthers 37-33, dropping them to 6-13 for the season and 6-7 in the region.

The Liberty girls improved to 6-6 in Region 3-AAA, and 6-12 overall, with a 44-41 win over St. Vincent’s Academy on January 26.

Liberty hosts Savannah Christian on Friday, visits Johnson on February 6 and hosts Long County on February 9.

The win propelled the Long County girls wrestling team into the state duals finals at Lumpkin County High School.
The Long County Lady Blue Tide wrestling team has been on the cusp of breaking through the last few seasons and the 2024-25 season is shaping up to be a historic one.
