Liberty County High School’s baseball team holds a 5-1 record after downing Savannah Country Day, 3-2, Tuesday at home.
The Hornets jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. The Liberty boys regained the lead in the second when Hunter Miller and Vince Smith both managed to score.
The Hornets tied the game in the fourth inning and the game remained tied until Colby Rhea had an RBI in the bottom of the seventh, bringing home Jerrold Clark and the win.
Miller finished the game going 1-of-2, and one run scored. Rhea was 1-of-4.
Aric Albertson pitched the first five innings, netting eight strikeouts, walking two, giving up four hits and two runs. Vincent Brunelli recorded 

the win, walking one and striking out five.
The Liberty boys were hosting Portal Thursday and were up 2-1 in the second inning before the skies opened up. Coach Tony Glazer said they will try to schedule a makeup.
The Panthers host Bryan County Monday at 6 p.m.
