Former Liberty County High star Raekwon McMillan made the 53-team for the New England Patriots. McMillan, originally a second-round pick out of Ohio State by the Miami Dolphins in 2017, signed as an unrestricted free agent with the Pats in March. He was third on the team in tackles with 11 during the preseason.

Former Long County star Tariq Carpenter also made the 53-man roster for the Green Bay Packers. Carpenter, a safety who was a seventh-round pick out of Georgia Tech, had nine tackles in the preseason.

The  Patriots released former Bradwell Institute running back Kevin Harris on Tuesday as the team reached its 53-man roster limit but signed him to the practice squad Wednesday.

Harris, a sixth-round draft pick out of South Carolina, led the Patriots with 80 yards rushing in the preseason on 13 attempts. He ran four times for a team-high 54 yards in the Patriots’ 23-6 loss to Las Vegas to end the preseason schedule.
