Bud Frankenthaler completes the fifth and final Georgia State Park Sprint Triathlons and gets the silver in his age group. The Hinesville resident said this means when they take the best four he will have three gold and one silver that will give him first place in his age group for two successive years. Frankenthaler hastened to say that at his age it is perseverance that really counts more than performance.  He said, “The younger participants have really been supportive by saying their goal is to be able to complete the races when they are my age.”  Frankenthaler has been the oldest participant in all of this year’s series.  Sprint triathlons include a half-mile swim, 12 to 15 mile bicycle ride and a 3.1 mile run.
