Randolph tabbed as region boys coach of the year

Bradwell Institute boys basketball coach Ty Randolph holds the Region 1-AAAAA trophy aloft after his Tigers captured their second crown in three years. Randolph was named the region South subregion coach of the year.

Coach Ty Randolph was named the Region 1-AAAAA South coach of the year and three of his Bradwell Institute players were named to the first team in voting by region coaches.

Seniors Chris Perry and Jaylin Sweat and junior Zi’on Thomas were named to the first team. Perry is averaging 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while Sweat is averaging 12.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Thomas leads the Tigers in scoring with 15.5 points per game and rebounds with 7.3 per game.

Senior Keon Grant and junior Eli Hale were named to the second team, and junior Fortune Hicks was named as honorable mention.

Statesboro’s JaCaiden Cone was selected as the region player of the year.
