AAU basketball teams are preparing for the summer league, which will culminate at the national tournament in Orlando. In doing so the St. James Coastal Crew Rebels 14U team and the 15U and 17U Walthourville Blazers will showcase Liberty County’s local talent, pitting their squads against the best teams in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry during this weekend’s South Caroluina Spurs Invitational in Bluffton. The 14U Rebels include, in front, coach Rodney Davis, Tevin Womack, Xavier Jackson, Dominique Kirkley, Jonathan Ferrell, Miguel Pineda, Stefan Walker and assistant coach Jose Pineda; in back, Casanova Gilchrist, Alex Demmings, Rashard Hawkins, Raekwon McMillian, Michael Burnette and Carl Adams. Not Pictured are Jamorris Hill, Jeremiah Bacon, Herbert Jones and De’Mond Ross. A roster of the Walthourville Blazers was not available but they are coached by Cedric Robertson.
