Former Liberty County High School and University of Tennessee basketball star Jordan McRae is bringing his game back to the United States, according to a report in an Australian newspaper.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported Wednesday that McRae, who had been playing in the National Basketball League in Australia, soon will make his National Basketball Association Developmental League debut.

Vince Crivelli, club chief executive of Melbourne United, which McRae has played for since last September, told the Morning Herald that McRae would play in the D-League this weekend. He didn’t say which team McRae would play for.

The Philadelphia 76ers currently own McRae’s NBA rights, which the team acquired during last June’s NBA Draft in a trade with San Antonio. As of Wednesday, the 76ers’ website did not specify what McRae’s next team would be.

McRae was second in the NBL with an average of 19.9 points in 27 games with Melbourne United. The club finished its season Sunday.
