Long Co Shows Well in Track Meet

Long County’s track and field team competed Thursday at a meet hosted by Liberty County High School.

Coach Deshon Brock said the team performed well, with seven competitors bringing home ribbons. Ja’Nya Bryant won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Brendon Scott won the long jump. Cameron Taylor won the mile run. And the girls’ 4x4 relay team, consisting of Keke Calhoun, Katie Estill, Trinity Hall and Alonna Rogers took home a second-place finish.

Results from Liberty County’s athletes had not been posted by Tuesday. Other schools competing in the meet were Glynn Academy, Wayne County, McIntosh County Academy and Richmond Hill.

Tuesday, the Blue Tide traveled to Hazlehurst for a meet at Jeff Davis High School. Results from that meet were not available by press time.

Friday, the team runs in Brooklet at Southeast Bulloch High School.
