The Long County Lady Blue Tide softball team dominated Region 3-AAA during the 2022 season. That showed in their entire starting lineup receiving some kind of all-region honor.

Senior pitcher Jaci Smiley led the way by being named Region 3-AAA Player of the Year after throwing 157 strikeouts and posting a 2.71 ERA. She also had a .545 batting average throughout the season.

Heading up the first team were senior second baseman Taylor Hodges, junior catcher Kyleigh Sizemore, and senior first baseman Delanie Williams. All three played big roles in the team winning the region championship and had double digit RBIs throughout the season.

Senior third baseman Kassie Davis and junior center fielder Amiyah Simpkins were named to the second team. Junior designated player Emma Smith, senior left fielder Mackenzie McFarland, senior shortstop/pitcher Rebecca Lust, and sophomore right fielder Ciara O’Brien were all named honorable mention.

The Lady Tide went 21-6 during the 2022 season, winning their first region championship in team history. Of the 10 players honored, four of them will return to defend the region championship in 2023.
