Local AAU track team the Southeast Elite Rockets qualified for the Junior Olympics after the squad placed well at its last two meets.

The Rockets’ performance at the AAU regional meet June 25-27 in Augusta sent the team to the ESPN Rise Games AAU Club Championship on July 13-18 in Orlando, Fla.

The AAU Junior Olympics will be July 31- Aug. 8 in Virginia.

Quintarius Chapman finished 15th in the long jump, clearing 9 feet, 11 inches; 27th in the 800-meter run, coming in at 3:24; and 22nd in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 1:14.

Quintunya Chapman placed second in the long jump, clearing 18 feet, 6 inches; 10th in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 56.82 seconds; and second in the 200-meter, coming in at 25.19 seconds.

Anthony Holsendolph finished second in the high jump, hitting 5 feet, 11 inches; and 10th in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 51.46 seconds.

Kwajelin Holsendolph placed second in the high jump, clearing 5 feet, 1 inch; third in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking in at 15.56 seconds; and 12th in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 13.18 seconds.

Montre Johnson placed second in the long jump, clearing 13 feet, 9 inches; third in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 14.56 seconds; and third in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 30.24 seconds.

Keandrea Ladson placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 4 feet, 10 inches.

Joshua McCullan placed second in the triple jump, clearing 40 feet, 8 inches.

Justin Dickson placed fourth in the decathlon, earning 3,192 points; fourth in the steeplechase, finishing in 8:04 minutes; and fourth in the javelin throw with a toss of 101 feet, 4 inches.

Dennis Williams finished 22nd in the 800-meter run in 2:10; 40th in the 400-meter dash in 54.01; and 31st in the long jump, clearing 17 feet, 4 inches.
