Baseball camp set
The Long County Recreation Department will be the host site for the inaugural Baseball Academy of Hope baseball camp beginning this week.
The first camp session will be from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday and is open to ages 5-9. The second session will be from 8 a.m. to noon June 29 through July 3 and is open to ages 10-15. Long County Blue Tide baseball fundraiser

The Long County Diamond Club is hosting its third annual Long County Baseball Golf Tournament on Aug. 8 at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. The club is seeking $100 hole and prize sponsors. For more information, call David Stapleton at 432-6149 or Phil Swindell at 912-977-0000. 

Southeast Georgia Basketball Camp opening

Southeast Georgia Basketball Skills Academy Camp is open to boys and girls ages 6-12. Camp is 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday from Thursday through July 29 at Jordy Bacon Elementary, 100 Deen St. in Hinesville.Each campers must bring a basketball, jump rope, snacks and lunch. Parent pick-up is at 4 p.m. each day. There is a onetime registration fee of $15 and then a weekly fee of $50.For more information call 912-610-3092 or 912-332-8725. 

Soccer camp planned

The Hinesville Soccer Association and Hinesville Gators are sponsoring an elite camp July 6-9 at James Brown Park for boys and girls ages 6-17.Participants are asked to bring soccer shoes, shin guards, water bottles, soccer balls and sunscreen. Training will incorporate techniques and foot drills used by European professional soccer teams.Registration is $150 and includes a dry-fit shirt and select game ball.
