CYSS basketball and cheerleading
Registration for youth basketball and cheerleading is under way until Friday or when all slots are filled. Basketball is open to all CYSS members ages 5-17 (age as of Jan. 1, 2011), and cheerleading is open to all CYSS members ages 6-13 (age as of Dec. 31, 2010).
Tentative age divisions for basketball are 5-6 coed, 7-8 coed, 9-10 boys, 9-10 girls, 11-12 boys, 11-14 girls, 13-14 boys and 15-17 coed. If there are not enough girls to form a league, the girls and boys squads in each age division will be merged.
Age divisions for cheerleading are 6-9 and 10-13. Participants can register at CYSS Parent Central Services, building T-0029. Hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Volunteers are needed to coach. Pick up a volunteer form at Parent Central Services or Jordan Youth Gym (building 608 W. 6th St.). Anyone who hasn’t volunteered to work for CYSS in the past year must fill out a volunteer form and submit to a background check.
