HINESVILLE -- East Georgia State College basketball Bobcats got a two for one deal from the Bradwell Institute basketball Tigers when guard duo Jonathan Bryant and Kaieem Riddick officially signed their National Letter of Intent for the Swainsboro school.

In the packed out Bradwell media center, the student-athletes sealed the deal on their commitment to the Bobcats.

Under Head Coach Ty Randolph the senior guards helped the Tigers to a 15-13 2022 record along with a trip to the GHSA Class 6A state tournament.

Both signees showed gratitude after signing with their NLI’s and cited being close to home as a major deciding factor into choosing East Georgia.

“It feels like the hard work and dedication paid off knowing that I’m going to play on the next level,” Bryant said of his future. “It’s close to him and it would be better for me to grow. It was a good opportunity.”

“It feels great,” Riddick said. “I never thought I’d be at this moment. When I transferred from Liberty, I didn’t have any hope, but Coach Randolph gave me the hope and I got to college. It’s close to home and family. In my opinion that’s where all the hoopers go. Now I’m living the dream, man.”

As the teammates head to Swainsboro to pursue a higher education and continue their basketball careers, having each other there will expand their on and off court chemistry.

“Kai is definitely one of my closest friends here,” Bryant said of his running mate. “It’s going to be fun on and off the court but we’re going to stay focused and dial in for the season.”

“That’s family,” Riddick said of Bryant. “It won’t be too different. We’re meeting new people but he’s still going to be on my side. We got each other’s back.”

Both will major in Business with Bryant having career aspirations of entrepreneurship and Riddick planning to enter the real estate field.

Under the leadership of Travis Garrett, the East Georgia Bobcats went 17-14 in the GCAA division during the 2021-22 season.
