Three LCRD win Class B GRPA 2008 state titles

The Liberty County Recreation Department had three teams bring home Georgia Recreation and Parks Association Class B 2008 state championships from last weekend's competition.
The midget girls team out scored Tift County 56-38. Sha'Quoia Crockett was the top scorer with 21 points. Akeyla Richardson and Briana Reece each scored 9 points. Crockett had dominated the boards scoring in the double digits for most of the season, leading the LCRD midget girls' Rover team.
The senior boys toppled Brunswick 84-57 to win state. Henry Roberts scored 21-points to lead the LCRD squad. Keith Robertson followed with 19 and Paul and Ralph Greene each scored 15-points.
The junior boys took a three-game winning streak over Cedar Town (65-52, 54-45, 60-45) to earn their title. Cameron Livingston and Sean Lee led the shots in game one with 18 and 15, respectively. In game two it was Andre Byrd putting up 14 points and Charles Futch scoring 13. Byrd stayed hot in game three, scoring 20-points and Livingston scored 12.
