The Long County Blue Tide golf team is rolling along in the 2022 season as they have one final match left in the regular season. On Thursday, April 22, they kept things going by facing off against the Appling County Pirates and Brantley County Herons.

The boys have had a fantastic season so far and kept it going Thursday, shooting a team 185 and beating the Pirates, who shot 200, and the Herons, who shot 256.

The boys had all three low medalists with senior Jason Carter shooting 45, junior Bryant Bleyman shooting 44 and freshman Rence Skipper shooting a season-best 42.

With the two wins, the boys are 9-1 on the season with their only loss being a non-region match against Wayne County.

The Lady Tide just missed pulling out a big win over the Pirates, losing by one stroke. They dominated the Herons 167-216.

Savannah Wells led the way for the girls, shooting a season-best 48. Ashlyn Tully was second for the Lady Tide, shooting a 58.

By splitting the matches, the Lady Tide move to 7-3 on the season.

The teams will play their final regular season match on Tuesday, April 26 against Bradwell and Liberty County at Cherokee Rose. They will compete in the area tournament on May 3 at The Creek Golf Club at Hard Labor State Park in Social Circle.
