The Long County Blue Tide basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end in the first round of the Region 3-AAA tournament last week, but both teams were far from done getting accolades.

Lady Tide senior Makinzie Moody was the lone player to be named to the all-region teams for the girls. She was named to the first team as a three-year starter at point guard.

Throughout the season, Moody was a big part of the Tide’s offense and defense, leading the team in both points and steals. She averaged nearly 20 points a game and nearly five steals per game while finishing her career just shy of 1,000 points in just three seasons with the Blue Tide.

Tide junior combo guard Zyi’Air Holt was named to the boys first team after leading the Tide in scoring and assists.

Junior guard Jamere Martin was named second team after he was second in scoring for the Tide and led the team in 3-point shooting percentage.

Sophomore guard Jy’son Mallard and senior guard Christian Presley were named honorable mention.
