The Long County Blue Tide will head to Savannah tonight with a chance to extend their winning streak to start the season.

The Tide, 5-0 on the season and 4-0 in Region 3-AAA, face Windsor Forest. Friday's game ends a 20-day span between games for the Blue Tide, as Hurricane Helene upended schedules across the state. Kickoff for the game at Islands High School is set for 4 p.m.

Long County’s showdown for first place with Calvary Day, originally set for October 4, has been moved to November 8.

The Blue Tide topped Beach 30-17 in their last outing. Jason Familia leads Long County’s run-heavy attack with 608 yards and six touchdowns, and Cortney Charles has 292 yards and five TDs.

Linebacker Kenny Pickens has 48 tackles, including a team-best six for a loss, and defensive back Chris Hatfield, a South Carolina commit, has 21 tackles, including four for losses. Tyler Gamble also has six stops for a loss for the Blue Tide.

The Knights, 1-4 on the season and 0-4 in the region, fell 35-8 to Southeast Bulloch on September 20.
