Tigers lose heartbreakers to Brunswick

Bradwell Institute lost both games of a doubleheader at Brunswick by just one run.

The Tigers fell 12-11 in a slugfest in the first game, then 5-4 in game 2.
In the first game, the Pirates took an 8-3 lead by the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tigers rallied by scoring two runs in the sixth and six in the seventh to take an 11-9 lead.

But in the bottom of the seventh, the Pirates managed to score three runs to eke out the one-run win.
Bradwell’s Robert Rivera and Quindarius Watkins each went 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Evan Crystal was credited with two RBIs. Brennan Long and O’Brian Nobles each had an RBI.

Rivera had seven putouts, while Long had three putouts.
Tiger Javin Tripp pitched an inning, tossing a strikeout and giving up three runs. Crystal threw two strikeouts in two innings. Steven Harris pitched four innings and struck out two.

In the second game, Bradwell had a 4-1 lead crushed by Brunswick’s four-run rally in the seventh inning.
Tiger Wes Brooks led at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Long had an RBI as well.

Brooks pitched four innings and tossed two strikeouts. Kai Ash pitched two innings, and Long pitched part of the final inning, throwing two strikeouts.
The Tigers’ baseball season is now over. They finished the year 5-17 overall and 0-12 in Region 3-AAAAA.
