The Bradwell Institute Tigers placed six players on the all-Region 1-AAAAA football team.
Sophomore wide receiver Tyon Jones, junior tight end Bryant Thomas and junior offensive lineman Elyjah Thurmon were named to the first-team offense, while senior linebackers Jawel Mobley and Khalil Latimer and sophomore defensive back Jabarri Neal were named to the firstteam defense.
Jones led the team in catches (44) and yards receiving (550). He and Thomas shared team top honors in receiving touchdowns (3). Thomas had 387 yards on 33 receptions.
Latimer led the team with 111 tackles, and Mobley had 100 tackles and five sacks. Neal added 74 tackles.
Earning honorable mention were junior quarterback Christopher Garrett, senior running back Treshaun Peggis, senior receiver Caden Guy, and junior offensive lineman Antonio Walthour.
Ware County senior linebacker Trey Hargrove was named region player of the year. Coffee senior running back Antwain McDuffie was named region offensive player of the year, and Jenkins senior linebacker Tavion Gadson was named region defensive player of the year.
Ware County’s Jason Strickland, who led the Gators to a Class AAAAA state championship with a 38-13 win over Warner Robins in the finals, was named region coach of the year.
