Tigers waste no time in rout of Lakeside

The Bradwell Institute Tigers made it three straight wins – and guaranteed a winning season for the first time in nine years – Friday night at Lakeside-Evans.

The Tigers high-powered offense scored on every possession except two and Bradwell dominated the homestanding Panthers in a 46-12 drubbing.

Bradwell had three scoring drives of no more than two plays, and the defense got into the act when Carlito Savea ran an interception back 56 yards on the final play of the first half.

Cameron Keeve and Jah’barri Felix each ran for two touchdowns, and Felix threw TD passes to Jacobi Pasley and Tyson Spears.

Bradwell led 39-6 at the half, and the coaches agreed to a running clock for the entirety of the second half.

A penalty allowed Bradwell to kick off from the Lakeside 45-yard line to start the second half, and the Tigers tried an onside kick. But the Panthers’ Colton Saxson scooped it up as the Tigers waited for the ball to travel the necessary 10 yards and took off. He was chased down and had the ball knocked from his grasp, and the Tigers recovered at their own 25.

Felix hit Spears, who outjumped a Lakeside defender in the end zone, with a 10-yard touchdown pass to cap Bradwell’s scoring on the night.

The Tigers improved to 6-2 on the season and 4-1 in the region. Bradwell travels to Grovetown (2-6, 2-3) on October 30.
